Marlowe - Ruth Rountree

Ruth B. Marlowe (Rountree), 79, of Avon, formerly of Rush, died on May 17, 2002 at the Livingston County
Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. She was born on April 15, 1923 in Lima, the daughter of Ernest Boldt
and Olga (Papka) Boldt. Mrs. Marlowe was retired from Rochester Telephone Company. She was an active
member of the Rush Legion Auxiliary and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was predeceased by
her husbands, Harold Rountree in 1979 and Warren Marlowe in 1985. She is survived by two daughters and
sons-in-law, Bonnie (Dick) Peffley of Avon and Peggy (Tom) Krenzer of Rush; son and daughter-in-law,
James (Faye) Rountree of Avon; brother and sister-in-law, Oscar (Marion) Boldt of Avon; two sisters and
brother-in-law, Emma (Robert) Mattoon of Texas, Freda Boldt of Henrietta; five grandchildren, Lynnette
Peffley, Timothy (Amy) Peffley, Todd Krenzer, Randy (Kellie) Krenzer, Troy Rountree; two great
grandchildren, Christopher and Kamryn Peffley; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours and Funeral
Services were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, 350 Genesee St. in Avon. Contributions
may be made to the American Lung Association or Avon Rotary-Lions Volunteer Ambulance in her
memory. Interment, Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush.
